Knit One Kits and my yarn journey

Updated 13th November 2024

My kits are aimed at those of you who can already knit or crochet. If you are not sure what to make next or you want a small quick easy project to test your newly learnt skills I have plenty to chose from. You can buy my kits in their 'No Fuss' the less expensive version which is the Yarn and Pattern only with simple packaging. Or you can add Needles or Hooks to the kit and opt for Extra Gift Packaging (select at the checkout) to have the 'kit' sent suitably packaged for you to give as a gift, the choice is yours. If you need a special message adding to the Kit email me at knitone247@gmail.com.

My packaging. I know that many online companies spend alot on packaging to make everything look super lovely on arrival, and I get that but at the same time it is very wasteful and ultimately these costs get passed back to you the customer. If you'd like to give the Kit as a Gift please choose the Gift Packaging option at the Checkout. The kit will be packed in a new box and tissue with a Yogi tea bag too. But otherwise your kit will be packaged (No Fuss version) in a green recycled plastic postal bags (to keep it dry) and the pattern in a card envelope to hopefully keep it flat in transit.

If you are in the Leicester area you can also pick up your order from my doorstep which is free! All the options are listed at checkout. For a small charge of £1.50 I drop off to anywhere in Leicester City - it might not be the same day but will certainly be quicker than the post!

If there is any of the yarn on my site I've used for a kit and you'd like to buy it in a non kit form please email on knitone247@gmail.com and I can sort something out. I do reply pretty quickly, BUT please check your spam folder just in case!

My website and yarn journey

Hello, my name is Alison and Knit One Kits is my online business. You may have come across me at a yarn show or know me from Knit One yarn shop in Leicester (a special welcome back) or just happened upon my web site, welcome.

My retail yarn journey started back in 2011 when the Knit One yarn shop opened in Clarendon Park, Leicester. A small but perfectly formed shop selling branded yarn, needles, hooks, patterns and lots lots more. After an amazing 8 years trading I decided to close the shop in September 2019 and to spend my time selling online and more importantly selling at yarn shows throughout the UK.

My kits for cushions, blankets, scarves, shawls, gloves and other useful woolly items have always been popular at the shop and at yarn shows. You can be confident that there is enough yarn (please check your tension as this could affect yarn usage) for the pattern that you are buying so start it straight away or add it to your stash for when you are ready.

I search out good quality yarn from some of the best commercial yarn company's, work on mixing colours together to create some awesome combinations for the crochet cushion covers or find a stitch that will complement the multi coloured yarns to create an eye catching scarf or shawl. My favourite yarn companies are Lang, Erika Knight, Rico, Sirdar and Katia.

Oh and lastly but not least if you can spare a minute to write a review that would be massively appreciated, a separate email will arrive from Judge Me with details.

Many thanks

Alison
